Most of my hikes are with my partner, Rachel Woolf. Due to my prior serious injury, I rely on her for safety while out hiking (in case my injury – a ruptured Achilles – reoccurs). She’s been part of each of our hikes and helps me see a path forward in this difficult time – both physically and metaphorically. Here we begin the final approach to the summit of Mt. Parnassus, elevation 13,579 feet. It’s here in spaces like this, even in the most trying days of the pandemic, that we feel most hopeful.
